About the Library:
Vidyasagar Metropolitan College features an air-conditioned, computerized open access Central Library with a collection of about 30,000 books, alongside various journals, magazines, and newspapers. Moreover, each department has a Departmental Library for quick access to books.
The library serves more than 1,500 readers, highlighting its significant impact on academic activities. The rapid evolution of information and communication technology has driven the library's re-engineering, leading to the adoption of new methods for creating, storing, organizing, and providing information. The college has embraced modern learning techniques through advanced software and library resources.
Dedicated to supporting the educational and informational needs of its users, the library continuously acquires and provides access to books, periodicals, and other media within a stimulating, scholarly environment conducive to academic pursuits.

The Library is situated on ground floor of the new building of the college having a 120 Sq. Mts. with 22 sitting capacities.

Library Automation:
The College Authority has initiated the process of computerizing the library. It has installed three personal computers for library services and acquired the SOUL library management software from INFLIBNET. A comprehensive book database has been created, and the computerized catalogue is now maintained using this software. Staff and students can search the catalogue through the OPAC service using two additional computers.A high speed broadband connectivity has been set up in the library.
